How Tree Ganesha stands apart from POP and Shadu mitti (Grey clay) Idols?

The festival of wisdom, prosperity, and good fortune. yes, the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi is in the corner and we are about to start preparing for this festival. The festival is celebrated with idols of lord Ganesha and with beautiful decorations. The event of bringing the idol home is very interesting and joyous. This festival brings happiness to our family. Each and everyone celebrates this festival with belief towards Lord Ganesha.

We often as human beings are so engrossed in making our events happen that we forget how we are harming the mother nature . we still do the same thing for years. We pollute nature very deeply.

But did you know? the idol that you worship during this festival is made up of POP (Plaster Of Paris)? POP is made of resins that are non-dissoluble in water and effects nature and marine life adversely leading to water pollution. The resins may take up to years to decompose.

AS per research the state of Maharashtra accounts for 20,00,000 (2 million) idols itself. These idols are made majorly of the Plaster of Paris. Leading to affect marine life and sanitary workers health. The immersions of idols in such a large scale would lead to accumulation of waste in the ground surface.
These idols are the purposely need to be dumped or broken into the pieces by the government so that they dissolve much faster. Such materials are washed off to the shore with the waves and indeed also polluting the land also.

Do you feel devasted after seeing those photos where parts of idols are washing to the shore?
Who does like to see such photos? right? To see something that you have worshiped for years lying in that state. The government has to dispose of the materials into dumping ground and has to think about the environment before the religion. It’s high time to realize that there is no religion to worship if there is no humanity left. Here is how you can help towards that cause and help build a better planet for ourselves.

Why not POP Idols.?
As traditionally in India the idols are made of POP. These idols are also decorated with colors to make them more attractive and appealing for the eyes . each and every idol is different in its own way. so that requires to use paints in a heavy quantity.
These paints are made of synthetic oils, lead, and mercury, etc. do not dissolve into the water bodies, Thereby making a layer on top of the water blocking oxygen dissolution into the water. These residues also contaminate the freshwater bodies leading to a shortage of water for domestic purposes.

Traditional idols also contain loads of decorative items that are made up of plastic and fiber materials these materials do not dissolve in the water bodies and by polluting the water not only leading to water pollution but also leading to land pollution. These materials take a long time to decompose and hence leading to affecting the marine ecosystem.
Aquatic animals swallow these items and are thereby leading to their premature death. the reason behind this is respiratory problems. Researches have found that the fish catches found in the coast of Mumbai have approximately 2 mg of plastic in the organs of the fishes.

How does tree Ganesha fight this problem?
The alternative to this is by choosing eco-friendly Ganesh murti. which are made of Red soil and which is considered very holistic in the Hindu culture. These idols are made with eco-friendly materials and do not include any kind of artificial material. The sole purpose of these idols is to promote natural materials and celebrate this festival in a healthy way.
Tree Ganesha are made from zero artificial materials and are plastic neutral. We do not include plastic at any stage of our production. Our ideas are innovative with a large number of designs to meet your taste.

We do not use colours for the whole idols as observing the effects of it on the environment. Saving and caring for all is what we work for.
